Captain Eric Bernard Horton,
POW Diary was written whilst
in
German OFLAG 79 at
Braunschweig (Brunswick) Quereum
near Hanover and the Weser.
Previously home of a German Parachute Regiment
and close to Herman Goring Aircraft Engine Factory,
also manufacturing V1 & V2 rocket bombs.
Eric was incarcerated as a
PoW at OFLAG 79 on 04th June 1944.
Liberated by USA Ninth Army 12th
April 1945.
Eric was a POW for a total of
512 days,
with 312 days at OFLAG 79.
